Before deciding to sign up for any program you should look into the need for that type of skill locally. They just had a article in the Puget Sound Business Journal about the decline in demand for Paralegals here. Unfortunately unless your a subscriber, you can't view the whole article on-line, but on the newsstands it's in the current issue Oct. 20-26 story on page 6. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I know University of Washington Extension offers a paralegal certificate program that runs (I believe) one academic year. I don't know much about it specifically, but UW is highly respected generally and their law school is highly ranked, so I'd guess it's a good program.
