First, anything religious will be poorly rated and dismissed. I need real reasons, like a study or statistics.
Why is gay marriage wrong? Why does America say I can't love and marry another woman? Is it Constitutional to put these bars on some one's heart? The Constitution says we are all entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but what if in my pursuit I find myself hopelessly desperately in love with another woman?
With the rate of orphaned and abandoned children high and increasing, why can't a gay couple adopt a child? Even in same sex families, there is a clear definition of what "mommy" and "daddy" do, that there is a dominant bread winner and a submissive care taker. If I were to get pregnant and have a little girl, what would hurt her more? Saying "Daddy didn't want you so it's just you and me." Or my marrying a woman and raising her in a loving home, where she is cared for and this submissive woman can be mommy and I as the dominant can put food on the table?

For those who ask about the comment on high and rising rates of children who are in need of adoption-

I ACTUALLY READ THE DAMNED STATISTICS!

And to the guy who apologized and said he didn't mean to sound like a- in my words- bible pusher-
It's cool. You actually responded in a fair way, not using a book as your ONLY back up.

Remember again, I mention that I could live in a gay relationship with a child where he/she will be loved, as opposed to being a "bastard" child whose daddy didn't want him or her!

I DON'T HUG TREES- get real ok. It's not that I don't want to hear something that claims I am wrong, it's that I am tired of that being the only excuse.

And statistics have proven that children from gay couples turn out just as normal as those from straight couples.

Where is your proof that "the rate of orphaned and abandoned children (are) high and increasing?"

Where is your proof that "in same sex families, there is a clear definition of what 'mommy' and 'daddy' do?" Furthermore, what exactly is that?

What we do have proof of, is that children thrive best in homes where both biological parents reside.

Not a study or a survey but an opinon:

Adoption: If there is a choice between aborting a child or letting a STABLE gay couple adopt it, I say go for the adoption rather than aborting a child.

Gay Marriage: Call it a "Union" but it isn't a marriage because marriage was established to bring more children into the society in a stable environment.

If you love someone, go ahead and live with them.

I liked John16's answer to your question.

It is important to seperate the civil and religious aspect. Any religion has the right to think any way they want to about this and not perform same sex marriage.

But civilly and legally all a marriage is, is a civil union. Same sex relationships and families do exist--whether some people like it or not. They have children and own property. It is stupid to deny the reality. They should be recognized as some type of legal entity.

Since we love to play word games these days I guess if people want to call them civil unions that is fine.\

"Why is gay marriage wrong?"

Personally, I don't think it is. And I agree that a gay couple can raise children effectively. But, .........

"The Constitution says we are all entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. ...."

No, it doesn't say that. You are quoting the Declaration of Independence, which is not law. A phrase that DOES appear in the Constitution which is similar to the wording of the Declaration is that no person shall be deprived "of life, liberty, or property without due process of law."

"Is it Constitutional to put these bars on some one's heart?"

Yes, it is Constitutional to do so with due process of law.

A child needs a mother AND a father. That is natural and normal, how things are in nature. Don't try to explain how nature is wrong and your views are right because this is a stone cold fact.

Gay marriage is a screwed up version of what men and women have been doing for centuries. Its destroying the value and seriousness of marriage.

Being GAY is wrong and deviant - even if you do not believe it is - IT IS.

I would not want to be raised by 2 mommies. That is sick.

Gays define themselves on having SEX - that's what GAY is. Seems an unheathy "place" to raise a kid.

There is a lesbian doctor couple in the subdivision down the road from us. They have 4 kids (young ones in grade school) and no one is allowed over there to play.
They are rich and have great "toys" and a pool, yet no playmates. I feel sorry for the kids. The lesbians have a rainbow pride flag in their yard. They are militant gays - not quiet ones.
And no - I don't march in, "Hey I'm married and have sex with a man" parades.

Well first of all, don't think like a victim and you won't be one.

You don't need anyone's permission for the way you live.

As for your legal rights, don't ask -- demand equality.

There are going to be people who disapprove of you and me but that's OK.

Its a free country. They are allowed their opinion.

And we ours.

That said we do have to worry about pervs adopting kids. And I hate to admit it but a lot of gay men did boys that are just to to young.

ANYTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION WILL BE POORLY RATED AND DISMISSED !!!!!!

BEING GAY is AGAINST RELIGION and THAT'S WHY YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT.

IT IS WRONG. I feel bad for the kids. It is BEST to be raised with your OWN MOM & DAD.

Liberals want every bad lifestyle accepted and I just want the most ACCEPTED to be MARRIED PARENTS - MOM & DAD - THE ONES THAT MADE THAT CHILD.
