I have a Dell Inspiron 1150. The AC adapter does work but the computer will not take the charge. Any comments?

I guess I should have stated that even when the AC adapter is hooked up, the CPU still will not power up.

Try and get your hands on another adapter and if it doesn't work, you'll need to get your Dell checked out.

You might have something broken in the power socket , have your battery tested at a computer repair company and also have them check all the sockets.

battery or the connection is messed up somewhere between there. If your charger is still good the next thing to check is the battery

Depending upon the age of your unit, it's possible you need a new battery.
