Mineral makeup as a concept is awesome. But Bare Minerals isn't all that great. It claims to be a natural product. However, the product literally has a bunch junk in it. For example, the foundation has bismuth oxychloride, which is a by-product of lead and copper refining. It is what gives the powder its sparkle. However, it is a pore clogger and for those with sensitive skin, such as myself, it's an extreme irritant. The mineral veil also has things like cornstarch in it. For some people it works for coverage, but it does not make your skin any clearer or healthier.
Look for more natural mineral makeups if that that is something you are interested in. Good mineral makeup has five ingredients or less with NO bismuth oxychloride. I suggest Beauty Bliss Cosmetics (from my hometown!) or Everyday Minerals.

It's powdered, ground up minerals, totally natural. The makeup is pure enough you can sleep in it! It's great stuff. Ebay stores have sample packages you can get for about 25 bucks to try it - I recommend it - I've used it about a year and I love it. The eye shadows are killer, also, they have loads of glittery ones, and they stay on great. It's also good if you have skin problems, as it covers rosacea, and zits, and smooths out wrinkles a little, too! And it's spf 15, which helps control sun damage.

I don't know the science of it, but it's a powder that works as a foundation when you spritz a bit of mineral water on your face. All I know is, it looks fantastic, and feels like you have very little makeup on. I love it. I wish I had it for daily makeup, but I had a professional do my makeup for my wedding, and it looked fantastic. I've never had a makeup that matched my skin-tone better than it, too, since I have such fair skin. Love it!

It's made of pure crushed minerals. Its good for your skin because it allows your skin to breathe and doesn't clog pores. It can help you deal with acne, rosacea, and anti-aging. The natural spf also protects your skin from the sun.
