I have to click on launch explorer browser to make it appear. Shouldn't a page pop up/appear once connection is made?

nope it shouldn't.

there are many aspects to the internet, not just web browsing, and your computer is not so presumptuous as to assume that's what you want to do when you go online.

also, your internet connection is not directly connected to your web browser. as i say, your internet connection can be used for all kinds of stuff - peer 2 peer services, email, ftp access, computer to computer connections - it's up to you to tell your computer you want to browse the 'net.

If you will move your blue 'e' logo (the one you click to open a webpage) Move it to the center of your screen and whenever you turn your computer on, so long as you don't move the mouse, it will open up Internet Exployer automatically for you. Hope This Was Helpful :-)

Yes, but telling us the error you're getting would be helpful. Check your internet settings, and make sure you don't have to be logged into a network (like you do on AT&T) in order to connect through your ISP.

it could be a number of things, like you may have to scandisk your hard drive and then defrag it, if you have downloaded a lot of programs they also go to your startup which they come on as soon as your computer comes online and that slows it down,if you have windows on your computer go to start, then to run, then type in: msconfig click ok, this will bring up a bunch of files at the top got to file startup, and the only ones you need running are, Load QM,Sys.Tray, State Mgr,Stillimage Monitor

no, because most of us have internet automatically, so that'd be freakin annoying.
