Well my brother was on the the internet doing who knows what and when I get on it the toolbar that show the time has a red circle with an x on it and every second there is a pop up coming from it that windows has detected a spyware infection. And about every 10 minutes there is another pop up telling to buy a program called pest trap to get rid of the virus. Ive never heard of pest trap and there is already a shortcut to its website on my desktop and I already have McAfee Security on my computer and it has been scanning the computer for about an hour and a half. What do I do now?

Wait until McAfee has completed running and if nothing is found, run a good spyware like Ad Aware or Spybot Search and Destroy, both can be downloaded for free. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ and look for the free personal download in the upper right hand corner of the page. Do a google search on "Spybot search and destroy" and there are several places to download a free copy. Both are good (I use both) and cannot harm your system. This should rid you of the problem. Good luck!~

It does take a long time for mcafee to check the entire computer, there are many files it has to go tru. just wait and see. Also make sure you have your pop up blocker on.

Reboot your comp. And never agree to the pop ups. They give you more viruses and make you pay money to get rid of itself. Copy all your info on a disk and reboot
