well i have a hamster and at first she did that too. how old is he? age matters. mine is almost one year old and has gotten used to me. once he gets used to u he will not bite. i promise. but first u have to spend more time with him and let him smell u and stuff like that. hope it helped.

Wow, some of the other answers are just nuts!!! Here is what you should really do: Keep trying to pet him and pet him; he will get used to your touch and trust you a bit more. Also, make sure your hands are extremely clean when trying to pick him up or he might mistake your smell for say, a carrot and try to eat you!!!! lolz....... also I recommend getting rid of the cage. Get a tank-- much cleaner and also he can't chew on the cage bars so yeah.

In a while he will get used to you and will stop biting you,I have a hamster and it took about 1 week to make him stop biting me...

Every time he does it hit him with a large hammer.
This will give him such a shock that he will beunlikly to repeat it again.
This method also saves on the cost of hamster food

lots of hamsters want to play all night and sleep all day so if its in the day time your trying to play with it try at night so it wont be as irritated if its a dawrf hamster sorry they r just gonna bite

trying buying teething orinment for babies. Its something you use to prevent them from nawing on things they shouldn't. It taste nasty which causes kids to stop biting or teething of the items you put it on.

cup him in your hands but if that doesn't work use a cup to get him out of the cage, but whatever you do do not grab him when he is sleeping!
