No you have to take the window handle off before you can get the door panel off. There will be a small cilp on the inside of the window handle that you need to get off. I found that the best way to do it is to take a small straight screwdriver and bend it at a 90 degree angle. Use this to pry the clip that is holding the window handle on. the handle they should come right off and you will have you door panel off then to. as long as you have everying else off of it first. The panel is probably held on by clips so you will have to pry it a little bit to get it off.

Without knowing what type of car it is, you can't get a definitive answer. However, on most cars, you'll need to pop the handle off first, then remove screws, clips, etc. to get the door panel off. I'm not sure, but I think O'Reilly's, Autozone or Napa have free Chilton's car illustrations on their website. You also might try finding a forum for your specific car and you would get the correct answer there.
Good luck!

No. There should be either a set screw or a spring that you have to remove first. The spring i am talking about in on the shaft of the door handle. It requires a special tool to remove it. Most sterio installers have this tool. They probally wont charge you to remove it. To put it back on is a snap you dont need the tool, you just push it back on the shaft till it clicks. Or if you are real handy you can rig a old fork to do this. Just remove the center tines and bend in the two end tines to fit aroud the shaft with a little luck you should be on your way.
Worked for me...
