I'm doing a research paper on Eli Whitney and need better references with full texts online. I'm limited to only one website source.

Only one website on Eli Whitney? I'd definitely suggest this one:
http://www.eliwhitney.org/main.htm

But what you really need to do to acquire better sources is this:

On your university library's website, there is a link to research databases. The database that will be of most use to you is called "America: History and Life." This database has a search function. Search for "Eli Whitney" and you will come up with lots of relevant articles from scholarly journals. In many cases, the full texts of these articles will be available through your library's website.

Your school's library should subscribe to various databases. There will be several that should contain reliable biographies and informational articles.

Ask the librarian. These sites will need user IDs and passwords.
