I get the blue screen when I'm playing Civilization IV (if that makes any difference). It says the normal blue screen message "A problem has been detected..." and it goes on to say the problem is caused by the file nv4-disp. I'm assuming this has something to do with my video card which is a NVIDIA GeForce 6200. Sometimes I don't get the message at all and the comp just freezes. Any ideas of how to fix this?

After the game loads, go to the settings tab and move your video and audio sliders to their lowest settings (there may be an FAQ to help you do this). Play the game for awhile. If everythings ok save your game, go back to the settings and increase the sliders by one. Repeat this process until things get unstable. Then back off one setting to be stable again. This will be the most that your system can handle and remain stable. You may also be able to sacrifice worse sound for better video or vice versa. If you're not happy with your "maximum performance" settings you may have to upgrade your hardware.

Well this is not a unique problem, it has happened before. You can try reinstalling the drivers for the card, but usually in this situation a new card is necessary. That card is fairly limited in playing new games, so it might be that you are having overheating issues or that the card simply can't handle the game.

If your computer hangs or reboots while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yk5zpr
