He was brought to Dallas by Jimmy Johnson from Miami, and it surprised me that he gave the starting job to Troy since Johnson had a history with Walsh.

Troy's in the Hall of Fame? No **** Dick Tracey, I didn't say Walsh was a better QB than Aikman was!

Being a BIG Cowboys fan of course I remember him. :)

We drafted Aikman with the #1 overall pick. And then in the supplemental draft we spent the next years #1 for Walsh.

I think that's the way to do it. Get 2 really good young QB's when you are going to rebuild, not just one, if possible.

Steve Walsh went to Cretin-Durham Hall High School in St. Paul, Minnesota. He then went to Miami where Jimmy Johnson coached him and the Jimmy took him in the Supplemental draft.

He did play his rookie year when Aikman was injured. The next year the Cowboys decided Aikman was their guy and traded Walsh to the Saints for 3 draft picks.

I think he'd qualify as a BUST but you don't hear much about him being a bust. I think probably because he went in the supplemental draft.

He turned into a journeyman QB and ended up with a total of 40 TD's and 50 INT's. For a #1 pick.... that's a bust!

Yeah, but Troy was a much better QB. Walsh sucked.
