He has a pending lawsuit, hasn't pd. child-support to the state for his 1st 2 kids, now grown, owes back support in 2 states, and, no one'll do anything, because the jails are so overcrowded. He is a complete bum. My son is 9 yrs. old, & can't ever remember him ever working. How do we escape? He's kidnapped my son, and just uses the system. He gets welfare, and he OWES the state! Imagine that! I just want my freedom from the physical, emotional, and verbal abuse he inflicts on myself and children. I need a pro bono atty. He also has a settlement coming early next year, and I want to attach a lien to it, so he can't just sign it, and walk away, scott free. I supported him for 5 years, all I want is OUT. And, for him to get what he has coming to him. Jail-time. He didn't even send his kids a Christmas card, b-day, nothing. Talk about hurt feelings! And, he wants to have visitation? He had it with his 1st 2 boys, and made promises, broke their hearts, why'd I want history to repeat itself?:(

Obviously hes practiced at the whole evading support thing so even if you went to it it would take years for you to see anything. Plus someone is in line for the money before you. Sure you are angry and want him to pay but is it really worth the time and effort when this effort would be better spent building a new life? Get the divorce (suing is free at the courthouse if you research it) and just leave and chalk it up as a mistake as you and your child having a life is most important... not allowing the guy to continue to drag you down. At the very least...... just leave! If you are still together once you do so there are so many programs that will provide what you need.

If you cant afford an attorney then perhaps contact a Paralegal. Paralegals do the footwork of an attorney and know the law and how to use it just as good as an attorney but is a whole lot cheaper. Explain you situation to him and he will give you advice how to proceed here. You can find them in the yellow pages or contact a nearby university/college with a law dept. At this point you have nothing to lose but everything to gain. Good luck

I'm very sorry for the hard time that youare going through. But my friends husband was a dirt bag who would not get a job. The judge said that he has to get health insurance for the kid due to his ex being self employed.

Best of luck.... I hope things work out best for your children.

What really sucks is that the decisions we make in haste effect our kids the most. Do whats right for the kids.
