I recommend Thinkmap's Visual Thesaurus as an aid to writing.

Of course, there are other factors to be considered. The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue post genuinely helpful and easily understood tips for writing, research and style.There site is here:

Some things that might help; read more, observe situations, listen to books on tape like radio stories. Where they are like a movie being described to you. I am not suggesting plagiarism just give you an idea of different way to phrase things.
