A novel is a book but it's a fictional story. A book can be about anything...fiction, non-fiction, cooking, sports, etc.

All Novels are books but not all novels are books. So, a novel is a work of fiction. A book can be anything, a cook-book, a short-story, anything. Book is also a general term. Thank you for your time.

Basically, a novel is usually a book. Or, each novel is a book, but not every book is a novel.

A novel is a fiction story based on language and events. Even if it's taken from non-fiction events. But a book could be anything, history, science, ..... fiction, non-fiction.. poem... these all books.

The same as swan is to bird, or oak is to tree - a novel is a particular type of book, a substantial fictional narrative traditionally composed of chapters, plot and characters. You can get a book of raffle tickets, or a book of remembrance but you can't consider them novels!

Technically, a novel is a story where the main character changes for the better at the end. A book, or a short story, has to involve emotions of the characters, or it is simply an anecdote.

to be honest they can botrh be the same thing but a book is a general term and the novel is a form of story that can be contained within a book.
