go about running an organization like this? Would such an organization fly? I would like input from both psi and sanguinarians. Thank you! :-)

I am a psi-vamp myself, and I filled out a questionnaire about a vampire advocacy group on this website:

It's been quite awhile though, so I don't know if they are still thinking about starting one.

Most of us aren't comfortable going public, for obvious reasons. But I suppose leaders would be voted in based on their experience in the community. It would be nice if it could work, but at this point in time it probably wouldn't get off the ground. Stupid media!

I'd start with a web site that would appeal to vampires. It would have lots of fun stuff: fashion ideas, a food and drink section, what to do if your daughter starts dating a werewolf--that kind of thing.

Once you get the meter clicks, you'll be in a position to advertise. If it starts flying, then you'll have to get set-up as a non-profit political organization, and that may comprise some attorney fees.

If the traffic gets huge, then you'll want to sign up members, perhaps offer health insurance at discount rates (do vampires even need health insurance?), and other products at discounted rates, like sun screen, GPS devices so people don't get lost flying around at night, and killer ingredients to spice-up that Bloody Mary after a hard night at work.

Good luck and have fun.

And be careful. As a vampire advocacy group you'll be competing directly with large, established organizations such as the Trial Lawyers Association, the ACLU and the UN.

what's the point of national advocacy? Why pander to a system that couldn't give a damn. The veneer will scrape off quick enuf once war/terror/panic sets in.

"...sort of like the NAACP?...for vampires?"

Are you sort of like 'touched' in the head?
