Wars are usually started by the greedy leaders and most times are justified by lies to get the people to think they are fighting for a good cause. Eg: Hitler told the Germans that Poland attached Germany. Poland only had horse mounted cavalry. Would you want to attack tanks with Horses. There is a rumor that Roosevelt knew Japan was going to attack Perle Harbor but kept is secret to make sure the American people would be ready to fight. It's usually about profit for the elite. Some of our Americans provided financing to Hitler so you have a tough time ever knowing to truth without a lot of research. You would not believe how we are lied to by people who are supposed to be our friends. Sorry if I bust any bubbles.

We have not gained any oil from the Iraqi conflict. It was started in response to bad information given to him. But acting upon the information not yet proven false, he did what he felt was right. Once the information that was provided was proven false, the debate begins on how the war was handled from this point onwards. Some contend that more investigation into the claims leading up to the war should have been carried out. None the less, most argue now on whether we should continue as we are, put more troops into the war effort, or pull out all together. I am not advocating one view over another, but simply illustrating the complexities of the situation entirely. We as Americans cannot buy into the view that it was for oil though, as it was not a military conflict of conquest (which would have given us the oil after a takeover), but a military act of overthrowing the government at the time and establishing a stable democratic government in its place. This is where it becomes difficult, because we have yet to see a stable Iraqi government set up.

I think it's wrong.
Halliburton alone has $41 BILLION dollars worth of contracts in the middle east, and it has increased since we've been at war. A few very powerful people are making a lot of money on this. Sounds like a good enough reason to go to war, doesnt it?
This administration has used fear to manipulate us into a place where we agree with whatever they tell us they need to do, because we are all afraid. Even when the truth is placed in front of us (i.e. no WMD and everyone lying and ADMITTING they lied) people are still too scared to hear the truth. That's what happens when we get a country that is addicted to the television and believes everything they hear that comes out of it.

Well Bush claims he started the Iraq war to help defend against terrorism, but it clearly isn't working. The WMD's he claimed Saddam had? None found. He also thought "liberating" the Iraqi people will decrease terrorism. Well, Iraq is on the verge of civil war. Over 100,000 innocent Iraqis have died in this war, and outraged Muslims around the world are joining the terrorist movement to combat the U.S. Oh, and did I forget to mention that our military is stretched so thin, that we can't stop real threats like North Korea? You're doing a heck of a job, Bushie.

You are a fool if you think the war is for oil. It does not matter who is in power in Iraq, they will still sell all the oil they can on the world market. It would cost way less then the cost of invading. But the war Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 either.
