The best way to separate classes, any type of class, is to build a high wall around them, something like we are trying to do along our southern border. If you are speaking about the social classes, then there is no way to separate them because they depend upon each other. You cannot have an "Up" if you don't have a "Down"; you can't have a "Left" if there is no "Right". In a race you cannot have a winner if there is no loser.The same is truth with our social classes. Separating them, after you acknowledge that the stages exist, is something that will happen because of the "abilities" ( Usually in the form of wealth ) the classes have.

Is there still a middle class? And if there is how do I join? I think the rich get richer and the poor stay poor. That's the way our economy works. But to answer your question maybe thousand dollars here or there.
