Family in Hieroglyphs?
There are several hieroglyphic words for family. You may want to get An Egyptian Hieroglyphic Dictionary, by E.A. Wallis Budge, from your library. You can look up pages
105b, 284a, 316a, 322a, 438b, 443b for family.
All these pages are in Vol. I, with all the hieroglyphic spellings.

Examples
105b: family, aut; written with two arms, a spiral and a "cookie" sign beneath the spiral (looking like a little hill);
a means hand, authority; aui means the two forearms; au means a kind of wood (may be a walking stick), or to travel; t means bread, loaf, cake.
This hieroglyphic word describes the family as active (arms), with a leader (authority) and where one gets one's loaf of bread. Bread was the main food, even payment, in ancient Egypt.

284a, m'hau-t means family, but also tribe clan, kin, relatives and mob! It is spelled in different hieroglyphic ways, e.g.
an owl with a forearm behind it, plus an angular spiral, plus a young chicken, plus the "cookie" hieroglyph, plus a sitting figure, plus a woman figure, plus 3 vertical lines.

316a, mhu, family, also tribe, clan. Spelled in hieroglyphs with an owl, an angular spiral, a vulture or eagle, a rounded spiral, and a sitting figure.

Etc.

You may investigate the meanings of the different hieroglyphic names for family as given in the example above, in order to choose one that has the most favorable connotation. to your liking

Egypt had a great influence on our culture, we merely are rather unaware of it.
