It is probably called a Morning Star (although a Flail is also possible name depending on what the handle is like)

Ah yes...the spiked ball and chain usually called a flail or a morning star mace. Common european weapon of the middle ages up through the renaissance. Actually the weapon was not used by the vikings as it did not come into existance unitl AFTER the end of the Viking age. Often times Vikings are depicted using it simply because it is a fery VERY barbarid looking weapon and the Vikings are often depicted as being barbaric (which is highly inaccurate, they were, actually more civilized than some of their contemporaries.)

The weapon was designed to be used agains suits of plate armor, which the Vikings didn't have. The whole idea of the weapon was to put dents in the armor to constrict freedom of movement and impari breathing...the chain helped the weapon to hit around and over the edges of shields. After the advent of gunpowder and firearms, plate armor was no longer used and the weapon fell into disuse.

The weapon with the spiked ball on a chain is usually called a flail. The mace and the morning star are more just clubs with spikey ends.

It's a morning-star. As pointed out, a Mace does not have the chain.

Vikings didn't use the morning-star--it is a much later weapon meant to be used against heavy plate armour.
