Take a look at photos of Madonna, Boy George and Cindy Lauper from the mid-80's for an extreme, sort-of feminine punked out look.
For a harder, rocker look, find photos of Joan Jet, Adam Ant, and some of the "hair" bands like Guns and Roses, Whitesnake, etc.
For a preppy/yuppie/corporate look, movies like American Psycho, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, and Less Than Zero have some good examples.

now this is my era. and in march my friend held an 80's party for me. for a girl its leg warmers and leggings with an off the shoulder top and tons of makeup mainly purples and hair crimped and tied to one side and for a man buy a mullet wig from ebay and a shellsuit or a pair of farahs tighter the better . also anything with shoulder pads will go down a treat

Get yourself a Frankie Say`s Relax t shirt off eBay , we had a 80`s night a few weeks ago , hubby had a shellsuit .. that t shirt .. and a pair of slip on shoes ! looked great lol

So many to choose from, Boy George, Freddie Mercury or try and get hold of a "Relax" t-shirt and a pair of skin tight jeans. Le Shark golf jumpers were in fashion and the "lovely" SHELLSUIT!!

You can have my mid seventies gear, still in my robe, flares, large blue check on cream jacket, tank top and rounded collar shirt. You can go to the eighties party as an out of date geek, that's how i must have appeared..............
