A fantasy sport is the new wave of games/sports that involves making a "dream team" of real players and then getting points/$$$ for how they do in the real world. The most popular fantasy sports are football followed by baseball and basketball. Other sports have fantasy sports (hockey, nascar, etc...) but aren't as popular. Fantasy sports have gotten a lot bigger and popular, thanks to the internet. People can go to a website, such as fantasysports.yahoo.com and create a team. Then you would have a draft in which you pick players in a sequential order until each team has a roster of players picked out (a real player can't be on more than one fantasy team). Then as the sport season happens, each week/day you get points based on how your player did. It's a lot of fun and really changes how you view the sport.

It's a game where you draft individual players to be part of your "fantasy team", and get points for how they actually perform in their real games each week. It gives people an excuse to watch teams they never would, otherwise :)
