I have tried to make myself urinate (even when I don't need to go) and I read that if you stick a candle or your own thumb up your backside you can wee for over a minute. I haven't managed it yet, even though it feels really good. I just wondered if anyone out there had been successful?

To urinate, you need urine in your bladder and assuming you dont have a prostate problem, just try the usual method. You can only urinate as much as the volume in your bladder and drinking plenty of water increases this volume.
Doing it sitting down or squatting will help to fully empty the bladder as this position puts more pressure on the bladder to squeeze out the urine.
Don't use your thumb - it has much better uses and as humans, the opposable thumb gives us a great advantage over other animals and primates for using tools, writing, "thumbing" a lift etc.

I have never heard this rumor before but i do know that the reason it feels good is because you are touching your prostate. This can act as a sexual stimulant.
I do know that an enlarged prostate will make it difficult to use the restroom.
Below in the links are some pictures to explain this. I have encountered patients at the hospital who have enlarged prostates but no one has ever said anything about peeing for a minute straight.

Why would you want to urinate if you don't need to?I suggest seeing a psychiatrist and if everything is OK,then enjoy the candle.

I can't remember, but I think it's either putting your thumb or water in your pee hole that makes you pee. Don't do cold water though, really bad experience with that. Make sure its warm, NOT HOT, but warm.
