In 1472, the Portuguese arrived in West Africa on an exploratory expedition; Infante Henrique, Duke of Viseu He is known in English as Prince Henry the Navigator or the Seafarer (Portuguese: o Navigator). perhaps, through West Africa, they could find a trade route to India? Instead, they encountered the African empire of Benin on the coast.

We will never know.After all, Morocco is classified as North-West Africa, and is only a few miles from Spain. It could have happened at anytime! Greek writings make mention of African nations and customs, therefore the Greeks must have had contact with them.
