I would rather someone just mark the price "firm" if they aren't going to bargain with you.

I agree, I alaways low ball O.B.O. items because I know they'll get mad at anything below their wish price.

It's kind of like on ebay when they start an auction at 99 cents, but the buy it now price is like, 200 bucks. You know they've got a 200 buck reserve on the thing! They have an inflated idea of what their product is worth, and your offer didn't please them. Plus, it's probably not the first "low" offer they've had, and they're starting to get the idea they won't get the price they want!
