Especially the Welsh peeps/Cardiffians out there.
Having lived in Cardiff for 11 years (recently moved up to the valleys) I felt the people didn't seem very Cardiffians. Most people from Cardiff don't have really strong Welsh accents and they're a very cosmopolitan group.
This lot were really strong Welsh-accented types who sounded more like North Walians. And they all seemed to be white!
Apart from that though its cool and sort of weird at the same time to see all the familiar sights of the city. You find yourself playing "OMG I know where that is!"
I actually quite enjoyed it apart from that. what did others think?

It didn't show Cardiff as being cosmopolitan at all! It was very unrepresentative.
I laughed so hard to see a fat white Welsh valleys boy working in the pizza parlour. If that was really Cardiff he'd have been a Somali!!
The accents got on my nerves to be honest because I felt they were overplaying them. Hardly anyone I know in Cardiff has such a strong Welsh accent - I sure as hell haven't!

I thought it was brill, especially loved the bit where the Doctors hand is kept in a jar (from when it was chopped off in last xmas Doctor Who special).

It was o.k but at times it was too absurd, I mean if I saw someone with a monster/deformed face like that i'd back off immediatly especially when you are in an area that has been cordoned off, but she just bloomin stood there saying "a good mask", yeah right a bloomin good mask if you ask me and why when she was drugged did she write everything down on her computer to remember, surely as a cop she would know they could hack into her computer and erase it, why didn't she just write it all down on a piece of paper instead of just writing "remember"....doh! Its all right to have some dark humour but this was silly stuff that they needn't of put in the programme to start with, couldn't they have been more inventive but more realistic at the same time, it looked rather rushed to me. I was hoping for an darker, grittier programme than that of the silly new Doctor Who thats out, but it wasn't that much better just a few extra gorier parts, maybe it will improve a few episodes into the series, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I agree i was disgusted with the concept of a soft porn show it was totally awful .
I like Dr Who and i have followed every Dr through the years and I knew this was different but i was unaware of the sex episode and its definitely not for kids.
Which i have got to say it was a family show kids are in bed, but i should have found more out about it than i did.
I cannot believe it was set in Cardiff lovely place but the welsh accents was awful i expected one of them to say BO YO.
Any how Lady moon no disrespect to you or wales

I love Doctor Who, but I don't really have any love lost for Russell T Davies. I always get the feeling he is trying to put his own sexual agenda into the show based on his own lifestyle, though at least there are other producers on "Doctor Who" itself for him to have his excesses reined in a bit for the 7pm audience. "Torchwood" shows what would happen to "Doctor Who" if Davies was ever given complete creative control - some kind of soft-porn sci-fi sex show with same-sex kisses every week.
It is at least being broadcast after the 9pm watershed, and although I'll probably watch it again as a Doctor Who fanboy, I wasn't especially impressed. I've seen a lot worse, but it hardly set my world alight.

Absolutely brilliant!!!
I don't have digital telly either but I went knocking on random peoples doors who had a satellite dish in the hope that someone would take pity on me and let me watch it cos I just couldn't wait till Wednesday. My aunt called me round in the end as she's just had sky digital installed. I loved it, I thought it was brilliant and I will be watching it again on Wednesday. I wasn't at all sceptical, being a lover of Dr Who as it is I've been looking forward to Torchwood ever since I heard about it and was not disapointed when my anticipation was finally satisfied.
Thank You Russell T Davies! You are a genius!!
Now we await Sarah Jane Adventures on CBBC... (just hope it's not the same as K9 and Company was)

was at the press preview, cant be arsed to read all of your crap. it was a cross between holby city / the bill and doctor who in Cardiff (meant to look like L.A), with 2 F words thrown in for no reason. Looked great on a HD projector but probably wont watch it again.

I thought it was good. 1st one a bit slow and mixed up...but it had to set a lot of background up. The 2nd one was blatantly to get folk talking...best sex scene I've seen on an SF show ...and very funny too.
Looking forward to it developing.
