91 does NOT have a Carburetor. It's Fuel injected.

It could be the Distributor Pickup coil.
If it isn't working, you'll get NO spark and the Injectors will not pulse Fuel . It is needed for both to operate.

If you did all that and still nothing you have a broken wire or a wire off a terminal somewhere in the ignition circuit. Take a test light and see if you have voltage to the distributor, coil, and fuel pump. Check all the wires on the starter, as it's part of the ignition circuit. Generally, the ICM causes the spark problem but that would not account for the electric fuel pump! I would definitely start checking for voltage! May also have a fuseable link which melted. TBI used a fuse for their injectors too. Recheck because GM fuses can be tricky if you are not using a testor. You stae carburator but that would have been a replacement installation as 91 had TBI.

You should of have checked the fuel filter and fuel pump first. Remove fuel filter and try to blow though it if pluged -change. While the filter is off turn key to on position and see if the fuel pump is working. Some fuel should come out in this proceedure. If not then the problem is your fuel pump.

WELL IF IT WERE ME I WOULD CHECK THE CRANK ANGLE SENSOR AND THE CAM SENSOR THE 5.7 ALSO HAS A KNOCK SENSOR THAT COULD CAUSE A PROBLEM, BUT SOUNDS MORE LIKE TH CRANK OR CAM SENSOR.
