I have heard of that happening. I've had three children, and it has never happened to me. I know that the doctor pushes down on the vagina really hard to help the baby out, and, as s/he does this, it prevents the poop from coming out. With my last birth, the doctor actually inserted his finger into my rectum because I was tearing (don't worry - at this point, even though the epidural wore off, there was so much pressure I didn't even notice. My husband told me about it later). Even if you do poop on the table, it's normal, so I wouldn't worry. Besides, everyone will be so excited to see the baby, they won't even notice. Good luck!

I was pregnant with my first and didn't even have any worry about it. But once all that pressure started it all felt like it was in my bottom area, and it felt like that was all I had to do was to poo. Anyway it did happen to me and it was not a big deal. No one looks at you funny because it is part of the birth. The doctors told me if I am pushing right than I would have a bowel movement. So if you do you do. Nothing to really be worried about

Very common practise , but the midwife will be very discreet and removes anything quickly and quietly. Dont be afraid to talk to her about your worries, they hear it everyday and dont take any notice at all. Believe me, I worked with 18 midwifes and it happens all the time - and flatulence!!!!
I 've had three babies and all were poo free deliveries.
Speak to the community midwife now. She will have all the answers to your questions.

It's very common. You're pushin from the area and so if you have any in there it will come on out. My doctor told me some women do not feel it so they dont even know they did it unless someone tells them. I didn't do it with my daughter, and I hope I dont do it with future babies.

I have had 3 babies and have never done that. If I did I didnt know about it. If it does happen it is something that the doctors have seen many time. Your pushing a baby out, so no one will judge you. Dont worry too much.

I have been told it is very common. I however had 3 kids and never had it happen. Your body usually cleans itself out while in labor. I know I had to go to the bathroom several times while in labor and never had anything happen while delivering.

It has been known to happen. Usually your bowels will empty naturally a day or two before you go into labour. Or you can ask the staff at the hospital for a suppository when you go into labour.

It happened to me, and I was telling the nurse I had to poop and they told me to just go on the table instead of letting go to the bathroom. So I just went on the table my boyfriend was there and I was embarrassed. Oh well it's natural.

It's a common occurence!
So...if your husband is angling to capture every little detail on camera, I suggest that you open up and let the real you come shining through!
