I'm a Postal supv.
it is NOT illegal to mail money, but its not smart to mail cash because the machinery involved in processing letter mail
(DPS) can sometimes damage letter mail with tiny rips that may allow a less-than-honest employee see the cash.
If you must send cash then PLEASE send the cash via "REGISTERED MAIL".. is the most secure way of sending valuable items because its handled separately than First Class mail. Registered mail is kept in a safe throughout processing and drivers, clerks, and letter carriers have to sign their names each time Registered mail is moved from one office to the next. Registered mail has a "money back guarantee" too if not delivered.

not illegal but highly discouraged considering there are problems with all the people who have access to the mail. a check or money order is much safer.and more secure

it is not illegal it is just ill advised since some people do still steal mail looking for money and checks you should transfer the money to someone through your bank or use a private service like western union to send it

No, it is not illegal but it is definitely not a wise thing to do because it could end up in the wrong hands and there would be nothing you can do about it.

No not illegal . But a very bad idea as anyone can take it without any way of tracing it for recovery.

its not illegal, its just not a good idea to mail cash. if it gets lost there is no way of tracking it whereas if you mail a check or giftcard, as long as you have the number on it, you can cancel it.
