what is producers job in the movie?

yeah, they have the big pockets, but often have a large say in how the movie goes, a producer can have an idea for a movie, he hires some one to write a script, he hires a director and they make the movie usualy with his money and the money he can fundraise.

Im a media studen and i have to study producers up and down lol... here is a copy and paste of one of my producer essays: A film producer is one of the most important jobs in the film industry, the producer initiates, co-ordinates, supervises and controls matters such as fundraising, hiring key personnel, and arranging for distributors. A producer will be involved throughout all the phases of the filmmaking process from development to completion of a project. In advertising and marketing of a film the director is usually given the spotlight for the film production, where actually in the making of a project the producer has the greatest degree of control in the American Film Industry, only very few producers are given spotlight for a project, producers such as Jerry Bruckheimer has always been spotlighted for all his film projects. As said the producer has the greatest degree of control and is considered the chief of staff and also has the control to terminate the director of his duties. There are many of other types of producers in the film industry and to mention a few, there is a Executive Producer, Co-Producer, Associate Producer, Production Director, Line Producer, Production Supervisor, Production Manager and finally Administrative Producer.
