Just from personal experiance, I can offer San Francisco and nearby Berkeley.
I've been to Chicago, and really didn't see the kinds of acceptance and even support that I have seen here, in Northern California.
I can't speak about NYC, ory anyplace on the East Coast, as I have never been there.
