Can the Dell Latitude D410 support 1680x1050 widescreen resolution?

Question

The Dell Latitude uses the Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS 910GML Express Chipset.

I'm trying to get the laptop to work with an external LCD monitor (Viewsonic VX2235WM) widescreen monitor with a native resolution of 1680x1050.

I can't seem to get my video drivers to output at that resolution.

I would like the definitive answer and ideally a link to the source of the answer.
