Lately, I have to go back to get the groceries I paid for and left there.

Not too often, fortunately, but I admit I do forget something important every now and then because I don't use a shopping list. A friend used a shopping list on which she drew an egg to remind her to get some eggs. By the time she was in the supermarket, she couldn't remember what it stood for and kept wondering why she wrote "zero" on her shopping list. So, you see, shopping lists are not always helpful!

I use a list when I go grocery shopping but there have been times when I forgot something -- I don't go back, I just let it go until next time.

Often, I forget something-- sometimes it's the very thing I went to the store for! This happens when I see other things I want when I get to the store. Even with lists, you might overlook items.
