I have previously worked in the Boston and Florida IT markets. In Boston I liked the professional atmosphere in IT, but a bit too cold weatherwise. Florida has good weather, but less of IT jobs. Currently I am looking for an affordable city that has reasonable weather, good IT jobs, low crime and relatively good school districts. Denver seems to be the best match, after researching on the Net. I have never visited Denver (other than transiting thriugh the Airport) so any information from someone who has lived, worked, and commuted in Denver would be helpfull. Thanks

Denver is a great place to live. The weather, scenery and people are wonderful. Boulder is too far outside of town and too expensive to live in. I'd stay south and west of town, those are the best neightborhoods. The tech center is about 15/20 minutes south of downtown so you'll probably want to live around there. Highlands Ranch (Douglas Co.) is a nice, large, newly built area. I also reccomend Lakewood (Jefferson Co.) and Littleton (Arapahoe Co.). Nice and affordable areas and still make your commute not so bad.

I've lived in Denver for 12 years now, and let me tell you I love it! Besides the recent school shootings, CO, as you said, has a very low crime rate. The best school district in the Denver area is Highland's Ranch, but if you move farther north, Boulder Valley School District is the best. Hope this helps!

cherry creek is one of the best in the state, but is a little expensive to live there. Jefferson County is also a good one.
