If your kid called 911 as a prank, how would you handle this?

If my kid did that, they would be in some serious trouble. Not only would they be grounded, I would take away something they truely like to play with and spank that behind.

i do no longer think of they are able to ward off them. An officer will continually might desire to pass to the scene in simple terms in case. this question jogs my memory of a time i exchange into in a police station. This woman got here in with 2 youthful little ones approximately 4-7 years previous. mutually as she exchange into on the front table speaking to the police officer he won a telephone call from the 911 operators telling him that somebody exchange into calling 911 from a payphone interior the station. properly the little darlings that they weren't have been those calling 911 and striking up....LOL I say those 2 little ones have been given extremely a spanking whilst mom have been given them living house...

try to impress on them that it's a bad idea; maybe even get the cops to talk to them (i don't know what happened with you, but sometimes if you call 911 the cops show up at your door--that would put some seriousness into it!) maybe tell them that if they call 911 they are distracting the law enforcement from folks who really need help, that kind of thing.

of course it's nice for them to know how to call 911 in a real emergency. they just need to know the difference.

My parents used to have a saying: "Do some pranking, get a spanking" so I'd probably give the kid a good, sound, old fashioned spanking, and take away their phone privileges for a few weeks.

I was calling my house number and I dialed 911 by mistake. My phone number is like 199 so I got it mixed up by mistake XD.

depending on the age of the child but i would have a word with the local police to see if they would come out and have a word so the child learns the seriousness of itas it could prevent emergency help getting to someone who needs it (life threatening). children usually listen to authority. i would still have a word myself and may give them a punishment like i said it depends on the age, the punishment could be no treats for a day or take away their favourite toy. the child needs to have learnt the importance of what they have done wrong so it must be explained to the child first

When the police arrived I would ask them to drive him around the block to give him a little scare and then bring him back.
