I use both Quicken and Microsoft Money, but I prefer Quicken for the household stuff.
Just because, I'm going to attach a good website with a lot of information about budgeting and finances. Just thought it might help if you're getting on a budget.

Depends on your preferences. There are two good packages out there to choose from:

There is Quicken from Intuit: http://quicken.intuit.com/?src=www.quicken.com

And there is Microsoft Money: http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.mspx

There are strong opinions on both and there are various features you can buy in their 'packages'. For me, I've tended to be more partial to Microsoft Money because its integrated into MSN.com. I travel a lot and I can literally do everything on-line that I can do on my computer. I like that.

If you need the basics, Microsoft has an online Microsoft Money Essentials for only $19.99 that looks interesting. All the other packges start at $29.99 so again, it comes down to what you like and what you need. Good luck.

I hope this was helpful.

Take Care,

TBG

Personally, I like Microsoft Money. It's simple to use and as comprehensive as you want it to be (Bill Gates, what went wrong when you designed this??!!) If all you need it for is keeping gtrack of bills and bank balances, the basic edition will be ideal. If you are using a Mac, Quicken is adequate and probably comes with the machine.
