Something you won't be embarassed about in ten years....
Just be yourself, try not to dress into something you have never or would never wear again. You want a fond memory in pictures you know...
Stay away of anything trashy looking, like low cut dresses with everything hanging out...

Wear something comfortable--you're going to be sitting around, shuffling around, walking around, all with a big stupid robe over that, right? I'd say a skirt or dress, but wear a long one, because otherwise, it looks like you aren't wearing anything under the robe. Or maybe that's a good thing. I'd also say, wear something with a collar or a neckline that goes up high enough that you can see it under the robe's neckline, or wear that little white collar doohickey they give you--again, you want it to look like you're wearing something under the robe. And try to make it match OK--my robe was this weird red color when I was in high school, and I wore a black dress but the ceremony was outside...in June...oh, the agony! Nothing but sweat, and my last name got called about 10th from last and there were like 200 people ahead of me...it sucked. Will it be summer where you are? Wear something season-appropriate, that's for sure.
For curly hair, I'd say, do the thing with the flat crown and poofy on the sides. You have to wear that stupid mortarboard that doesn't fit right on your head, so don't have a lot of height at the top or you'll have trouble pinning it on. I'm thinking like the hairstyle the nice girl had in the movie Carrie, the chick that had her boyfriend take Carrie to the prom. Or that chick in the new Justin Timberlake video--you know the one with TI when he's rapping? She has the fro kinda going out to the sides? I think that would look good under a mortarboard and then it wouldn't look strange when you took the cap off afterwards, either, since it would already be flattened (on purpose, I mean.)

Keep it simple an d comfortable...your ceremony will probably be hot and drag on forever (Mine did). Most of your pictures will be taken in your cap and gown anyway.
As for hair and makeup, again keep it simple. You don't want a crazy hair do that won't go under your cap or gets messed up when you take it on/off. You'll want a little something so the pictures come out nice, but you don't want to look like the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

dipending if ur a girl or a guy, the best clothes wont be for guys/ a nice cotton collor shirt with navy blue pants and good dress shoes(note: be sure to comb your hair!),for the girls/ you can wear a nice satin dress with high heel shoes and small earings, bunned hair and a pretty neclace. these outfits are of my own personal opinion so you dont have to go by what i say.

personally i think a light teal or turquoise is always pretty on a girl. a dress would be pretty. but since most of the other girls there will most likely be wear halters and strapless you can wear a pant suit to stand out. but i cute one. and for the hair, i would say tight curls. that would be the cutest. hope i could help!

Be unique. I wore a medieval dress my mother made for me. It was so awesome. My hair was curled with white flowers in it and my dress was composed of two parts. A green covering and a creamy white dress underneath that with gold trimming.

dress, for sure, because you don't want pants sticking out of your gown. white is classic, women have been wearing it for graduation for years. its also symbolic (you wear white for communion, weddings, its a rite of passage thing)
as for hair, it's tricky, because you have to take the cap into acount. wearing it down or in a half pony was easiest and prettiest for me, or any style low on your head, so you can still get the cap on

for clothes- wear a light colored skirt if your gown is light so it wont show throgh and a nice top
for hair- straighten it and keep it down becuase it'll be more comfortable cuz you'll be wearing a hat

a white or light colored cotton dress, low heels and hair up if it will fit under your cap, if not down and textured. Congrats to the grad!
