After the tigers won the AL title they had a week off. The Cardinals had one day off after winning the NL title.

It may have helped heal some players and rest the pitching but I would always say you need to play as often as you can for timing in hitting. I wouldn't say it did either because it did both.

I am not a tigers fan, but I have been watching them since the all star break. The fact that they have had such a long break is the most likely explanation for their poor performance in game 1. If you are a Tigers fan I would not be too concerned just yet. They are a far superior team in almost all aspects of baseball and I would look for them to rebound in game two.

That is no excuse for anything.

I hate how people say it will either hurt them or help them.

The Tigers are professional ballplayers and should be ready to play at all times.

it hurt, at this point after the long grind anything more than 1 day off is counter productive.

It was slightly negative. They were a little rusty, but I think they will not be so rusty tonight.
