I was wondering if it has been an increase or am I just getting more sensitive to it. Is this a reflection on whats happenning on society or is the anomimity of the site that makes people behave this way?

I have only been on this site for a month, and I had my e-mail option opened for just two days before someone sent me some hateful e-mail over something trivial. There are a lot of nuts out there that need to get a life, racist or not. Some people are just hateful bullys on the internet because thay are too small inside to be that way out in the real world. I guess thay think that its safe to let their true ugly selves out on this site. Sad sad little people. It does suck though, when someone is a jerk. I have fun on this site, but don't believe in using it to denounce things that I may not understand or agree with. Its just ignorance.

I think that people on here like the iminemity to vent just to say as they feel, which is something you can't do in real life on a daily bases. This propably helps some just get rid of the anger or hate in such a way technically is harmless.

Each person here will take it personally or not, but if a person doesn't vent then the anger can get stronger.

Some are just trying to create problems, but I think most use it to say how they really feel and once they get it out the feel better. It may not change things in the world, but being heard without being condemned as a ignorant person or being judged, allows peace to avail a bit.

Some use untactful words but saying it is better than hiding it, the anger becomes free and is not trapped to build up to where one might do actual actions to someone.

I have noticed a growing amount of hate and racism in the world lately. I truly think that I see less here than in the newspapers. One of the reasons I like it here.

it is definitely the anonimity. its a reflection of people thoughts that sometimes they can express in public, it also becomes like a defense mechanism for example a white person insults a hispanic person the hispanic insults back and then the black and the black to the white and so on. it happens in religion things too. in sports. anything that has a group becomes a back and forth issue

It is about time that it goes away but we are being inundated with ideas about who the bad guys are. The guys with the black hats. We seem to forget that we are after all the human race. One big society with good people and some not so good, all shapes and sizes, all colors , just one human race.

The anonymity help some people say what they think, when they would never dare say it out loud. I also think the some people can only enjoy themselves when they causing chaos for someone else, and it appears to be deliberate when people think they are safe from responsibility for it, like here.

Some people, usually young, think that the Internet is the land of "do as you please without consequences."

Well, there are enough people in jail to prove otherwise, such as the guy who hoaxed those NFL bomb threats last week.

Just flag those posts, then flag everything those people have posted elsewhere. They'll be gone soon enough.

Passive comments from racist persons are only a way to allow ignorance to control them and not have to answer to it. Racism should fade.

I don't know for how long you've been here, but it has always been like this. Actually, I've seen it decrease a little.
