I think you can answer this question yourself. How i can help you is by giving you a list of careers in music , it in here http://www.cvtips.com/career_in_music.html , then you can decide which is the better option Music Business or as a performer. I think once you decide on that, you can easily choose a college.

Without any hesitation, I'd advise you to take some heavy accounting courses, whichever way you go. You MUST know where the money comes from and where it goes.

Regarding a career as a performer, I can tell you that college will not offer ANYTHING that will assure your sucess. It MAY offer you a chance to practice and polish your skills, as an artist, but you don't need college for that.

An orchestral musician gets a chance to practice and perform with the college group, and experiance playing before live audiences, but that's about it.

A better chance of getting into the business might be to learn the business of music, and/or the technical end of things, such as in being an audio engineer.

Musicians come and go, in the biz, but the guys at the sound mixing board work very steadily.

If you are thinking more in the lines of managing and distribution, then some pre law courses, especially contract law can be very helpful.

probably music business would be better, simply because i think it's slightly (SLIGHTLY) easier to get in the bus that way than as a performer. If you want performance, there's Julliard, obviously. They only do performance, and by that, I mean that's the only major they have. There's also another university in the midwest I think, something like, cornell, but, not LOL the name is similar to cornell, and from what I've heard, it's more prestigious than Julliard, which is saying A LOT. But that also means that it's really hard to get in, same with Julliard. Good luck!

The vocals are stable, the guitar playing needs some paintings inspite of the indisputable fact that. choose for it. you are going to have a good purchase of opposition inspite of the indisputable fact that. I study someplace that the universal musician (no longer celebrity) makes approximately 30K consistent with year. i do no longer think of you're celebrity high quality yet besides the indisputable fact that that nut that sings "Your ideal" repeatedly and another time by some ability is a celebrity.

music performance major with a business minor. or double major in music performance and business. i was a music perf. major (voice) in college...loved it. it was fun and rewarding, and enabled me to both perform and teach.

Business major is the best. This will teach you how to become successful and how to manage success. The rest is just ambition, talent, luck and most importantly who you know.
