First lets pretend you want to graduate from highschool. These ratios and proportions will help you pass the math classes needed to accomplish this.
why does everyone ask questions like this. This is what you are to learn in school. If you want to go to a school where you only use stuff you will use, graduate from high school and go to a technical school.
Lets say you go to a store 3 times, 2 of the 3 times (ratio) the food was awful. The other time the food was ok. Do you think you will go back?
Also you want to go to a party, The host says there will be a ratio of 4 guys to every one girl. Do you really want to go to a sasuage fest?

You could use the ratios in cooking. If you wanted to triple everything. Ratios are also important in fuel mixing for 2 strokes. Certain oil to gas ratio's are important.
