I remember hearing about the government funding a play in the 30s, and taking away the funding at the last second. For some reason they allowed the playwright to read it on stage though. One by one, the actors in the audience started standing up and delivering the lines. Any info on this would be GREATLY appreciated, or any links. I've already tried wikipedia, but there was nothing.

"The Cradle Will Rock" - there was a film about this play (not the play, but the producing and banning of it) a couple of years ago. It was also called "The Cradle Will Rock" and was a really interesting movie.
