It is a regular internal exam and yes, the doctor can tell if you have had sex. Birth control is also sometimes prescribed to help regulate a girls menstrual cycle and also to help with the bad cramps.
Here is a site that explains exactly what happens during the exam:

Hun,they physically cannot tell whether you have had intercourse or not.The only physical sign(By the way, used to also be the way they actually told whether a female was a virgin or not)is the hymen being broken. However, there are tons of sports, and activities that can actually break the hymen on a female and it doesnt have anything to do with sexual intercourse. Also, you should always be honest with your gyno about your sexual history. If something should arise, they need to know all of that so that they can know where to begin when examining you and trying to diagnose you.At 14 some females have periods that are very unpredictable.Birth control, however helps make it more predictable so that they will know when to expect it.It has its perks and its flaws. You must consult your gyno, and you both decide if it is best for you to be placed on birth control. There are health risks that come along with taking birth control. It also, isnt 100% effective when being used as a contraceptive.Good luck.

truthfully, 14 is way too young to be having sex. your body is still growing and changing, and being sexually active right now is not a good thing to do. i'd wait until the changing is done and the hormones have had a chance to remain level before having sex. but, if you are persistant on having sex already, going on birth control is a great thing to do. talk to your professional about what form of birth control would be best for you. as far as the exam goes, it is not the most comfortable, but definately better than going through pregnancy and labor. the exam consists of a pelvic where you will lay on the table and they check the uterus and test the cervical tissues to make sure they are healthy. try to stay relaxed during the xam and the discomfort is eased drastically. birth control pills do regulate your periods, but 14 is not a good age to do so, considering what was said earlier. i hope this helps you out!

I understand what you are saying just fine, some get hungup on such little things! When you go in for the exame they will check you out below I believe, it's been a long time ago and do a quick checkup like listen to your heart and stuff. It doesn't matter if you've had sex or not, they know how to deal with that kind of thing. It's ok to be on the pill to control your symptoms, many use it for that. Now if you should decide to have sex while on it be sure you always use a condom- always and never miss 1 pill!! I hope tho you wait until you are older tho cause you dont want to mix up love with sex.

i got my first birth control examine at 14 too. theyll just ask u to put on a gown or sheet, theyll do a papsmear, theyll check ur breast to make sure theres no lumps or cancer signs, this is good because they can check for things that u might not know about if u didnt get the exam.dont be worried about it, it doesnt hurt at all, they tell u everything they do before they do it. take ur birth control corretly and youll be set for a year before the next checkup. they dont tell ur parents anything, its all confidential ok.

Im thirteen and i was on birth control. I think the only reason you should be on birth control is if your having sex because for us alot of birth controls cause bone loss and are bones are still growing if your going to get anything get the nuvaring because theres not as many harmful horomones.

It really depends on bad the cramps are! If you had a good doctor, they should suggest a good strong paid med instead. If you are sexually active, then the pill or such like is the answer. But I would not advise messing with your young hormones at such an early age.
Try pain killers - prescribed ones.
Try not to add to your already hormonal body, it is a difficult enough time for you, you really should not add to the turmoils of growing up with pumpinf your body with additional hormones.
Best of luck.

How do you mean "is it good"? If it is helping to control her hormones then yes, if she has started puberty and needs them then yes, if she is having regular sex then yes.

You should go to school to learn how to speak correctly before even thinking about sex.
