well my school has never had a homecomming before and this is our 1st one! so i dont know what wear cuz most homecommings are simi-formal, but mine is "hoe down" themed. so is it like brownish short simiformal dress or like jeans and red plaid t-shirt?

Try to find a cute jean dress and cowgirl boots.
If not, do the semi-open plaid shirt thing with a red handkerchief/bandanna around your neck, jeans, and cowgirl boots. If you can wear your hair down, and get a cowgirl hat it would complete the look.
Perfect timing, go to Halloween Costume shops!

i would wear a brown-tan toned printed empire-waist, knee-length dress with some tan cowboy boots (make sure you have a good heel on those) add a straw cowboy hat and some brown bamboo bangles and that will be perfect for a dance like that. if its cold, layer it with a cute tan cardigan for a touch of prepster or a jean jacket for that "i'm ready to dance, and maybe even haul some hay!" look.

Wow, this is weird. A hoe down is a square dance, right? So a gingham style dress with a petticoat starched underneath and cow boy boots. Wouldn't that be it?
