What was up with the Chargers offense/defense during the game? It was almost non-existent during the second half. Was it due to the fact that they were playing in a hard-to-play stadium or was it because the Chiefs outmatched them or what? I'd like some unbiased commentary on this.

Well, the offensive line of the Chargers hasn't played well all year, they've been getting the job done, but for the most part have been spotty at best. Rivers started bad, which he's allowed to do, he's inexperienced and has been playing far beyond expectations so far. Combine those two things and you get an offense that just has a bad game. Kansas City did a great job of exploiting this by stacking the line and disguising their coverages. On defense, the front 7 which has been so good so far played way too conservative at the start of the game, they didn't bring pressure like they normally do and allowed Huard to get into a rhythm that no QB has been able to get into so far against this defense. The defense stepped it up in the second half, but it was a case of too little too late as the offensive line of the Chargers never got things going.
On the Chiefs side of the ball, they were fired up all game, the crowd was a huge factor, causing Rivers to waste timeouts in the first half. Overall, the Chiefs played the best game they've played all season, and the Chargers played their worst. Games like this one will happen, even dogs have their day. In the end, the Chargers are among the elite in the nfl, they will make the playoffs, the Chiefs will end up 8-8 and miss the playoffs.

Well, I think that since the Chiefs lost 45-7 to Pittsburgh last week, they were playing with inense ferocity at Home. Arrowhead is the Hardest NFL stadium for vsiting teams to play in,so young QB Phillip Rivers probably felt the heat from the fans and the Chiefs defense.
