We all try to make a difference somewhere in the lifetime but not enough to make it big, we might be changing ourselves, and all of believe me are doing that, and there is a difference, for good i assure u, someday it will be big, just start with ur own niche, to ur community, nomatter what just start. Stop the corruption in ur own minds, others will soon follow, we all have brains, can think of ways to succeed in the right manner, i do it, u do it too, we'll make a big difference someday.

There still are people who try to make a difference in the world. i think many people just arent recognized. also, many people see the news and look around them and see how bad everything is sometimes, and get discouraged. I know this has happened to me before. it seems like every time i try to make a difference, even just a very small change in something, i tend to give up to easily, im guessing some others do to. It takes more than one person to change the world. and working with others is the only way we will have a chance.
Im sorry you think noone tries to make a difference in the world, but the changes we want to see should began with ourselves.

I think this is a matter of perspective. I think that lots of people make positive differences in the world every day. It is just that maybe each of these are small steps to improving the world that impact their lives, their family's lives, or their community. I work with a woman that went on vacation to Africa. This was not a typical vacation. She volunteered at an orphanage and worked with children, the teachers, and their community. This gave me a new respect for her and options on what defines a vacation. She also inspired me to volunteer in my own way. She definately made a difference at the orphanage in Africa and with me. Life is action and reaction. One small gesture may inspire another and another ect. ect. Good things that happen everyday are not exciting or dramatic so they are overlooked (especially if you rely on the evening news).

People usually start out trying to better themselves and the world around them. It takes a strong spirit to persevere against all the nay Sayer's in the world. Most people wind up gives in and blaming others for the condition of their lives and the world at large. They don't realize that if they stayed in the game, against all odds, wonderful things can result.

I am sorry if this is true in your perception, but I see everyone, every day, working hard to make a difference in the world and in their local communities. I see women helping women in mother's clubs, I see neighbors pitching in to fix their community after disaster, I see people voting and trying to get people registered to vote to help change the world - say nothing of the people working to organize and run our communities efficiently - often against many obstacles. I see people on here talking, talking talking - trying to come up with something to agree upon to help themselves and their fellow man.
Peace!

Its the nobodys at all, that become the ghandi's of the world
Its that we are making a difference but the media are not covering it....
They are run by people who dont want to change the world because they are rich.....

There are a lot of people who try to make a difference every single day..unfortunately they don't make for good reading or news..there are more people who care than those who don't.

'To transform the world, we must begin with ourselves; and what is important in beginning with ourselves is the intention. The intention must be to understand ourselves and not to leave it to others to transform themselves or to bring about a modified change through revolution, either of the left or of the right. It is important to understand that this is our responsibility, yours and mine; because, however small may be the world we live in, if we can transform ourselves, bring about a radically different point of view in our daily existence, then perhaps we shall affect the world at large, the extended relationship with others'.
