We found on a tractor parts website that our Cub Cadet (16 hp Briggs and Straton engine) uses this type of oil with no oil filter. We have never heard of it!!

Just run a HD-30 weight (thats a straight high detergent) oil above 40 degrees f.... never a non detergent...
10w-30 or 5w-30 below 40...., or 10w-30, 5w-30 synthetic all year round.....

Change it every 25 hours..
I recommend....., 15w-40 in the summer, or 10w-30, 5w-30 synthetic all year round....

5w-30 conventional in the winter. As conventionals like 5w-30 shear easy in the hotter temps....

As for la30weight...., never heard of it...

I have a 20 year old B&S engine on my mower and I just straight 30W automobile oil. They may have put the prefix on it just to get you to buy their oil which is probably 3X the cost of 30W.
