keep away from dells as they are tricky when they go wrong. Also i would wait until feb next year as most companies will be selling off their stock of non-Vista compliant pc's. also a good place to look for a decent pc is www.savastore.com. There you can even choose what you want in your next pc so it suits you better.

All the people recommending Dells obviously are NOT gamers. Most Dell computers come with integrated Intel Graphics which are HORRIBLE for gaming. BTW, Dell now owns Alienware and their quality of gaming PC isn't what it used to be.

The best way to get a gaming PC for a good price is to either build it, or have an independant PC shop build one for you. If you live in Florida I'd be more than happy to build you a solid gaming rig for under a thousand.

Many people have suggested Dell, and as a PC professional I would have to say they are absolutely correct. Dell is as good a place as any to buy a new PC, and you'll get a beast of a machine for £1000.00. Taskr36 raises a good point, don't use the standard graphics adapter in a Dell machine unless it happens to have a high spec one, generally they used intergrated graphics with shared memory which is not only a pile of s**te, its also a drian on your RAM.

definitely dell.com. We have 2 Dells now and I wouldn't change for anything. They're very reliable and have next to no problems. I have a laptop and I use it for the exact same things plus I ordered it with all the "extras" for gaming, my photography software and stuff too. I pay only $32 a month for it and its wonderful. Total it's about 1000.

You are better buying from an independent PC shop, none of this online bull. You can have it made to spec for half the price of Dell, Acer, Time or Tiny whatever they're called now? I bought from both Tiny and Acer and both pcs were total mince! Built with cheap components1

Buy from your local shop!

Dell or Gateway both very helpful and do a good support backup, should you have any problems . With Gateway they build a computer to your spec.
