I've actually researched what lottery winners did with their winnings (for a newspaper article I wrote).
Here's what I found:
From the 10 winners I interviewed/researched -
only 2 were happy.
Two committed suicide less than 5 years from winning.
Three winners declared bankruptcy within 7 years of winning because they were paid an annuity each year for 20 years and over extended themselves by purchasing expensive cars and houses during the first 3 years of their payments.
Five of the 10 divorced within 5 years.
Two were hopelessly strung out on drugs.
And the 2 winners that lived happily ever after?
they both used their money to set up charitable foundations that helped others.
What I learned is this...
you won't be happy, no matter how much money you have, unless you do things for others and give of yourself.
Selfish people are never happy, even if they win the 360 million dollar lottery.

First, I would pay off all my debt. Which isn't much, now! only $6000. I know there are many people out there that say they wish they had my debt amount.
Second, Buy my mother a Home and Land to have the home on with the Taxes paid for the first five years atleast.
Third, Open my Massage Therapy clinic and have it set up and running the way I know it would be the most successful.
Fourth, I would Invest in companies that I could most likely profit from as far as my business. Businesses that I know for sure would keep me in business year after year.
Fifth, I would adopt two children every two years, from different countries starting with my own country Right here in the United States.
Then I would live my life as happily as Possible with my huge family.

1) charter jet - take close friends and family to Jamaica.
2) Friends/family stay 1 week at nice hotel
3) me and my man stay a month at beach cottage with all the luxury and party imaginable.
4) come home and give each friend/family $10,000 each so they will leave me alone.
5) Hire an attorney and financial planner
6) Fund the psychology program (5 years) for the mentally retarded clients at my old job
7) Buy house on the lake, 7 cars for 7 days (all types),
nice boat, clothes, etc.
8) (should be #1) - 10% to my church
9) Never worry about money again.
10) Be a blessing to the world!
((as you see I've been thinking of this for a long time!)

The first thing I'd do is rent a helicopter and go pick my husband up off of the platform in the middle of gulf and bring him home.

Hire the best lawyer in the country and get custody of my nephews from their loser "dads". (My sister died in June) Then I would have an awesome castle built, complete with secret passages and rooms, and we would all live happily ever after.
