Cause he knew the show was ending so he need to get a head start on his movie career. I don't blame him he didn't want to get typecasted.

I guessing just like many other Television shows the reason the actor left is because of money? It is always about money. Remember "3 Company" when Susan Sommers got a big wage ( due to her big boobs ) compare the rest of the cast, and when the rest of the casts found out she got paid bigger, they all got pissed off about it and demanded they get a fair treatment in pay, or they would leave the show.

I thought he left because he is in the new spider-man movie. I think he is suppose to play venom. Although venom is suppose to be very buff so I dont know how that will work out:)

He wanted to go into more movie roles. They pretty much knew that the season after his departure was going to be the last anyway. At least they had him get back together with Donna.

i think he was mad at Ashton for stealing the show because it was supposed to be about him and he had other movies and stuff to do, but i am not positive.
