Absolutely not okay for any reason. To me, when you burn the American flag you are disrespecting every man, woman and child who died defending it, in every war this country has ever fought.
So you just go kick their butts and tell them it is not okay to burn the red, white and blue.

But they can.......

Burn an effigy of our president. That's okay. Because well, then they are only disrespecting one guy who probably deserves a little disrespect.

I think it is another of those stupid Neocon wedge issues that take us away from what is REALLY important. HMMMM...flag burning, or how many of our soldiers were killed today for Bush's war which he still can't provide the American public with a logical reason for? HMMM-.... flag burning or how we are losing in Afghanistan, where we should have won handily if not whitewashed with the Iraq invasion???

The flag is a symbol of freedom-you may not like it but when a flag is burned, your freedom is still there! I'm more concrened about the destruction of the Constitution.

It is a PIECE OF CLOTH! A rag, even. You won't be doing shi* if I choose to exercise my First Amendment right to torch it.

I support the Constitution. Do you? If you support Bush, you don't.

"They can take away my freedoms, but they'll never get my flag!"

It may be disrespectful, but free speech is ALL speech. Not just the speech that you agree with. Since I assume this question is motivated by my question, go back to my question to see what I added to it with my opinion.

It's even more disrespectful how the American people are being treated by Bush. Are you going to "kick ***" over that one??

If you do not want to burn a flag move to Cuba. It's banned there.

Or do not set fire to one here.
